A Season of Thankfulness

Australians mightn’t celebrate an official Thanksgiving holiday like our Northern Hemisphere friends, but over the past week I’ve noticed many friends and local bloggers share what they’re thankful for.

Thankfulness is a “trend” I’m happy to jump on board. 😉

Despite the “downs” life throws at each of us, there’s always something we can thank God for in our lives.

I thank God for my amazing family, who roll with the punches and adapt to whatever is required for that week.

Orchestrating the timetables of seven people has its busy moments for me, let alone writing, running our family business and home schooling my youngest. Managing Mr Wonderful’s schedule is a part-time job, but I wouldn’t have it any other way or I’d never see my husband (he’s not the best at running the calendar). It’s worth all the organising, planning and juggling so we can see our girls grow into the godly women they are, inspiring me to grow and do better.

I thank God for my 7-seat vehicle, and whisper my thanks to Him whenever I enter my garage.

When our sixth family member arrived, we only owned a 5-seater. We weren’t able to purchase a 7-seater until Miss C was 22 months old, so I never forget what a blessing my car is.

I thank God for my church family.

Since we “found” them in 2022, they’ve come through for us again and again. I’ve never experienced a similar level of mentorship, friendship, and support, and am thrilled we have the privilege of attending our church. (Fun fact: I love my church family more than dark chocolate.)

I thank God I rediscovered my love for fiction.

If I hadn’t indulged my growing ache to find a moment and read some fiction in 2018, I wouldn’t be writing this post. Reading has opened the door to writing, and I thank God for the privilege of connecting with readers—old and new—on this journey.

What are you thankful for? Share in the comments below.

Until next time,
