Have you ever mistaken two authors for each other? Blended their names in your head until you were convinced they were one person?
Maybe it’s just me.
Confession time: Until recently, my brain insisted Becky Monson and Sarah Monzon were one and the same—despite the glaringly obvious difference in their names (and, you know, actual existence as separate human beings).
*insert embarrassed red-flushed face of someone branding the internet with her #fail here*
I’ve enjoyed several of Becky Monson’s romantic comedies (like this one!), but I hadn’t yet read a Sarah Monzon novel. That changed last month, and I’m so glad it did! A huge thank you to NetGalley and Bethany House Publishers for the complimentary review copy.

An Overdue Match is a beautiful contemporary romance—woven together with faith, heart and real-life struggles—between an unlikely pair: a librarian and a tattoo artist.
Evangeline’s story mesmerised me. I’ve only heard about alopecia in passing, so seeing her experiences unfold on the page—her heartbreak, struggles, and journey toward self-acceptance—was raw and powerful. The way she moved from despair to hope, from shutting out God to reconnecting with Him, hit me right in the feels.
Then there’s Tai. Oh, Tai. *sigh* With his unwavering positivity, depth, and wisdom, he’s the sort of hero you can’t help but love. Despite his own hardships, he exuded warmth and kindness. I especially loved his banter with his cousin and the earnest moments he shared with his family and Evangeline’s loved ones.
This story delivered a perfect blend of sweet romance, emotional depth, and a message of hope and faith that lingered long after the last page. If you love heartfelt, faith-filled fiction, An Overdue Match deserves a spot on your TBR.
