It’s been almost four weeks since my last blog post. Do I feel guilty?

As I mentioned in my last post, I’m learning to be flexible with my blog. Rather than feeling the pressure to read so I have a book to discuss, I’ve since realised I have years of reading tucked away in my archives.
About seven years ago, I started the habit of reviewing every book I read the moment I finished it, so I have a handy little collection of thoughts waiting for such a time as this. 😉
Today I’m excited to share Dora Hiers’ Love’s Time trilogy. It’s a small-town Christian romance series following the Lambright family through stories of love, healing, redemption and faith.
A Time to Heal introduces Remi Lambright, along with the rest of the Lambright family, and her love interest, race car driver Mason.
Remi’s anxiety and tendency to retreat made her particularly relatable. I loved watching Mason patiently draw her out, building a “trust net” around her one tiny step at a time. His patience was endearing, as was his strong faith and willingness to learn.
Remi’s animal sanctuary also added a fun layer to a story with many serious themes. Ms Hiers drew from the depths of her characters, creating emotional tension while artfully weaving each scene. The sparks between Remi and Mason practically jumped off the page, even in this closed-door romance.
A Time to Build focuses on Carson Lambright and Remi’s best friend, firefighter Jillian. Their story takes us into deeper territory.
I’d enjoyed meeting Jillian in the first book and was intrigued by the hints surrounding her feelings for Remi’s wayward brother. Their painful shared history forced them to confront the wounds of their past, making this a beautiful, redemptive story.
While the romance shared sizzling and swoony moment, I enjoyed seeing the barriers between them slowly fall and their relationship develop with God at the centre.
A Time to Embrace is a romance between Camdon Lambright and his best friend, Sierra.
Camdon is the dependable, protective brother everyone counted on, so I was intrigued to see who would eventually capture his heart. Single mum Sierra’s strength and tenacity made her a wonderful match for him, particularly given the hardships she’d faced in life. I loved Sierra’s bravery and the way her story unfolded, but the epilogue was my favourite. It tied the family’s stories together and left me both satisfied and more than reluctant to say goodbye.
After reading this series, I have one small request for the author: Ms Hiers, could we perhaps have Violet and Wyatt’s story, please?
If you enjoy small-town Christian romance, family sagas, redemptive stories and intertwined characters, Love’s Time is well worth adding to your reading list.
