If you’ve read my blog longer than a second, you might remember my post from May, Have You Met Dora Hiers?, where I shared my thoughts on the first three books in Ms Hiers’s A Love for Every Season series. Each story followed one of the Season sisters as they discovered faith, love, and a sense of belonging. So when the last book released, I couldn’t wait to see how their stories wrapped up.

Winter’s Release follows eldest sister Winter Season, who has always carried the weight of the world on her shoulders. Long before their parents abandoned the four girls to a group home, she was the one who protected them, no matter the cost to herself. Now that her younger siblings have settled into their own lives, she’s left wondering what’s next… and whether there’s room in her heart for love after everything she’s been through.
Enter Boone Keating, a single dad with a big heart, strong faith, and a streak of adventure that both intrigues and terrifies Winter. He strides through each day with courage while tenderly nurturing his adorable daughter, Finley. Some of my favourite moments were watching Winter slowly open her heart to the Keatings.
While I enjoyed Winter’s Release for its heavy dose of “reality” and the faith woven through every page, what stood out most was Winter’s quiet strength. She learns to let go of control, release fear, and trust that love—whether between her sisters, a dashing hero, or Father God—can be both safe and brave.
Reading the last book in a series is a bittersweet experience. I’ve loved spending time with these courageous sisters, watching them heal from painful pasts, find hope, and fall in love with kind, God-fearing men. Ms Hiers has wrapped up their stories beautifully, blending women’s fiction depth with sweet, faith-filled romance.
If you’ve journeyed with the Season sisters from Autumn’s Daddy to Summer’s Reach, you’ll find Winter’s Release a satisfying, heartfelt finale.
If you haven’t started the series yet, well… what a perfect season to begin.
Until next time,

You’re so welcome, Dora! 💖 Thank you for writing stories I love. I’ll never stop falling for a beautifully tortured character, haha. And thank you for the birthday wishes… even if I’m still mourning how fast my babies are growing up!
