I’m not sure when it happened, but Courtney Walsh became a “one-click author” for me. If you’re unfamiliar with the term, it means I’ll press that orange Buy now with 1-Click button on Amazon without even reading the blurb of her books… because I know I’m in excellent hands.
It’s a writer’s dream, really, to become someone’s one-click author. I’ve chatted with authors who say it’s both a deep honour and a quiet pressure, knowing readers trust them to deliver a story worth their time. Funny how a fulfilled dream leads to a new level with extra responsibilities.
Anyway, I’m a Courtney Walsh fan. So when Thomas Nelson Fiction (via NetGalley) approved me as an early reader for her upcoming novel, I was thrilled.
If you love romantic women’s fiction that blends laugh-out-loud awkward moments with character growth, heartfelt community, and a delicious slow-burn romance, then this one’s worth clearing your schedule.

Everything’s Coming Up Rosie by Courtney Walsh is about what happens when our big dreams take unexpected detours and the surprising joy we find when we finally stop resisting the change. It’s also the sort of book you curl up with and devour yet somehow want to savour.
I adored Rosie’s quirky, often oblivious (and occasionally self-absorbed) personality because it made her growth so satisfying to witness. Despite only pushing thirty, she fit in well within the hilarious retirement community she worked in, and I grew to love the cast of supporting characters. They grumbled, teased, challenged, and loved Rosie in all the right ways.
The setting of Sunset Hills added extra sparkle, from embarrassing (and sometimes muddy) #fail moments to the delightful chaos of amateur theatre inside a retirement community. It’s funny and feel-good, but with enough grounded, real-life messiness to keep it from floating off into fairytale territory. I laughed, cringed, swooned… and now I’m wondering if Rosie’s delectable co-worker Booker might be available to hire for, erm… emotional support purposes. *sigh*
Everything’s Coming Up Rosie releases next week and I highly recommend you get your hands on a copy!
Until next time,
